MODERN MIND CONTROL

Your mind, your brain, your thoughts...

A large portion of life is spent gaining and maintaining control of these--for some of us that is.
The trick by the powers that be--the government, religious organizations and leaders, family, the media, corporations, etc. is to make you believe that you are indeed in command of your mind, your brain, and your thoughts. However, the truth is, they are in charge.
They do this, in part, by feeding you the idea that you posses the power of choice. Yet, in reality, they severely restrict your options to choose from. Examples:
a. heads I win, tails you lose
b. Coke versus Pepsi (you still drink cola)
c. Republican versus Democrat (it's all the same)

They also accomplish this by bombarding your minds with consistent messages and images that are intended to make you look and feel incomplete and inferior. You need to drive a certain car, wear a specific brand of clothing, or live in a particular neighborhood to matter. This implanted sense of inferiority creates an artificial need--a false desire--to be more or to appear better than others in your category. Thus, this drive to squelch your newly dented self-image causes you to seek out other superficial symbols of success in order not only to ward off the critical perceptions of others, but also build a sense of superiority. This is intended to gain the admiration and (sadly) the acceptance of other such shallow-minded people. Luxury brands, logos, and other forms of commercial imagery utilized to give people a sense of accomplishment and success are all tools in the construction of mind control, brainwashing, and thought influence.

The media frames ideas within specific contexts according to their agendas. Freedom fighters can be morphed into terrorists. Acts of heroism can be presented as cowardice or rooted in self-centeredness. The words and actions of some can be magnified and purposely misconstrued while those of others can be severely minimized, downplayed, or even ignored altogether. It's all incumbent upon whether or not the interests and priorities of the powers that be are served. The great Malcolm X made two thought provoking statements concerning this far reaching power; “The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses.” and “If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing."

These powers are all set upon a mission, engaged in a war, and at times work in concert to control you--your mind, your brain, and your thoughts. They are afraid of free thinking, analytical, and fearless people. This is why from the time you open your eyes and ears in the morning until you close them to sleep, all of your senses are repeatedly invaded with news reports filled with fear, advertisements of all types, endless streams of useless trivial information, and countless forms of entertainment.  This serves two primary purposes:

1. It distracts you from unplugging from this maze long enough to formulate your own thoughts and analyze them.

2. It enables them to continually have uninterrupted access to your thoughts through a virtually permanent connection through the various gates of your senses.

This aids significantly in brainwashing you and putting a steady amount of pressure on your mind to prevent it from growing and developing independence.  Yes, independence, freedom, liberty, etc. Slavery is fundamentally control of another's mind; hence the term, "slave mentality." Control of the body and actions are only accomplished through the avenue of the mind. And if those that are enslaved are under the delusion that they are free, the power of the master is not at all threatened. The famous emancipator, Harriet Tubman, alluded to this when she stated, "I freed a thousand slaves I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves." In addition, the late renowned South African political scholar, Steve Biko, put the power of the controlled mind in perspective when he wrote, "The greatest weapon in the hand of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed."

This is why when nations are invaded and taken over or individuals are stolen away from their nations, one of the first things done to these peoples are the changing of their languages/introduction of the foreign ones and the changing of their names/introduction of foreign ones. One can even point out this phenomenon occurring in the context of the spreading of religions as well. Thoughts are expressed in words. Words are the building blocks of languages. Names come from languages. Thus, to take control of language and names (two fundamental elements of most cultures) is another way to penetrate and dominate the minds of people. In other words, if I can get you to speak like me, then you will eventually think that way I want you to.

But we also understand that all out invasions and overt control of our minds are not normally the methods used. We are more so the victims of slick infiltration and silent maneuvering. We are to first have our natural and mental eyes opened in order to recognize our true condition. Sadly, most people don't care. So, they give very little thought to their thoughts and basically acquiesce their minds willingly to the powers that be. After all, there exists no struggle when one simply gives in.

Nonetheless, my mind, being the most powerful tool/weapon in existence, is desired by the powers that be. Therefore, it is my job to fight for its freedom and maintain it at all costs. Why do you desire what you desire? Why so you spend your money the way that you do? What gives you a sense of satisfaction and confidence? Why do you like or dislike something/someone in particular? Chances are, all of these have been heavily influenced by a source outside of your own mind. Yet, for some reason, you've allowed your own thoughts and desires to be steered into whatever direction they presently find themselves. Think about it.
